Words to Live By

Who among us couldn’t use a little inspiration right now?  Life has been harder than usual for many people this year, so anything that can help soften the edges and remind us what’s really important is welcome.  That’s why we love this variety of inspirational and word art signs that we have in the store right now.  They have been popular with customers for years (decades really, if you consider the old “Home Sweet Home“ saying) and there’s no indication that the trend is slowing — probably because they are so simple, yet powerful.

Most of them center on family, home and faith and say something we all can relate to, which is why they make such excellent gifts! Some are funny (“Our Family Is Just One Tent Away From a Full Blown Circus”); and some are more heartfelt:

“Family, where life begins and love never ends.”

“Sometimes home has a heartbeat.”

“Count your rainbows, not your storms.”

“ABCs of Faith: Ask and it will be given to you, Believe, Commit your way to the Lord . . .”

“Don’t Stress, Do Your Best, Forget the Rest.”

“Family, a Little Bit of Crazy, a Little Bit of Loud, and a Whole Lot of Love.”

“Where There is Hope, There Is Faith. Where There Is Faith, Miracles Happen.”

“Bless the food before us and the Family beside us & the Love between us.”

“Faith shines brightest in the dark.”

How can you not feel good just reading those phrases?  There’s just something comforting in those words, and if you can’t be with family or friends this holiday season, sending a gift that shares such warm sentiment is a fitting alternative.

Some are a single word: “Thankful,” “Blessed,” “Gather,” and others are a full paragraph about family or house rules to live by.

The signs come in a variety of sizes.  Some are as big as posters, while others fit easily on a table top , which means you can tuck them anywhere — on your desk at work, a shelf in the kitchen, bathroom or laundry room, or that one awkward wall space that every home seems to have.

We like the idea of placing or hanging them anywhere they’ll be read often, because that’s how they make a difference. Get one for yourself or gift one to a friend, and you’ll know.
