Decorate With a Flourish – Add Flowers
Create Simple, Yet Striking Arrangements to Freshen Up Your Rooms
One of the quickest and easiest ways to freshen up any room is to add flowers. They bring color, texture and interest all at once. And, while fresh cut stems are certainly beautiful, we’re partial to the faux variety for a number of reasons: They are a one-time investment, they always look good (you never have to change the water!) and they never die, which means they don’t leave a mess behind as petals and leaves shrivel and fall off.
Every season we stock faux versions of the best of what you’ll find blooming outside. Right now, that includes mini dandelion spray, boxwood branches, mimosa spray, cherry orchard branch, lemon branch, green hop stem, cotton and eucalyptus spray, long-hanging dandelion stem, orchid stem, zinnia stem, berry with leaves spray, eucalyptus stem, cotton stem, green leaf cotton stem, tulips, daffodils, magnolias, basil, rosemary, spearmint . . .
There are any number of ways to incorporate these stems into your décor, but our favorite is stuffing a few of them into one of the bulbous shaped thick glass bottles we have in stock. They come in a number of colors — clear, green, blue, red. Their narrow necks make creating arrangements a snap. We’d even go so far as to say they’re fool-proof. And because the stems are made with wire, you can bend and shape them to create a really natural looking display. You don’t need a lot of stems to create a full look, but we recommend using an odd number in any grouping; they can be the same variety or pair a couple of different ones to create more interest. We like them placed on a tray alongside a couple of pillar candleholders on a coffee table, as a centerpiece on a dining room table or an accent on an entry way table.
And when the season changes from spring to summer to fall to winter, you can swap out the stems to create a new look.
Want to keep it super simple? We also have many florals that are already arranged in a vase!
