Here at Union Furniture & Flooring, we have many longtime and repeat customers. That’s what comes from being family owned and in business for more than 100 years. Union residents Debbie & Eddy are a couple of our favorites. Their purchases date back 47 years — as long as they have been married. Their dining room table, kitchen table, sofas, end tables, a TV console, bookcase, accessories, prints, mattress and box spring, flooring, countertop, backsplash tile . . .
They came to Union Furniture as newlyweds to furnish a 100-plus-year-old farmhouse they had purchased on the outskirts of town. One of the biggest perks of the property was the outdoor space — the house sits on 5 acres, so it feels like you’re in the country, when you’re actually in town, just minutes from all of those amenities, said Debbie. In the beginning, the house was a simple, square floorplan with white clapboard siding. Over the years, they made it their own by encasing it in brick and creating additions to serve their growing family. They enclosed the back porch to relocate the kitchen and expand the living space so they could add bedrooms.
A pair of these end tables purchased so long ago from Union Furniture that she can’t remember when are among Debbie’s favorite furniture buys. The quality means they still look great and style is timeless.
With each of those renovations and expansions, the couple came to Union Furniture.
Earlier this year when they were ready to update the flooring in their family room/dining room combo area, they met with our flooring experts to make a selection: RevWood Select laminate in the Rare Vintage series, Cedar Chestnut finish, by Mohawk. They wanted something durable, but beautiful, and today’s laminate is scratch resistant and textured with a beveled edge, giving it a very realistic appearance.
Back in 2021, the couple renovated their kitchen, installing a Silestone Marfil Suede quartz countertop and a 2x4-inch tumbled brick travertine tile by Floridatile for the backsplash.
Quality is the biggest reason they return time and again, Debbie said. They have never been disappointed in a purchase from Union Furniture.
The end tables in the living room are some of Debbie’s favorite pieces. Bought from Union Furniture so long ago that she can’t even remember when, they look like new and the style looks like something that could easily be on the sales floor today.
“That’s what I love about Union Furniture,” Debbie remarked — that combination of quality and style.
